IMPHAL, July 31 - With the death of another patient, the COVID-19 toll in Manipur today reached five.
The man who died at the JNIMS Hospital, had been suffering from diabetes and hypertension, officials said.
Meanwhile, with 116 new cases, the COVID-19 tally in the State has reached 2,621. The total active and recovered cases stand at 931 and 1,689 respectively, official sources said.
The new cases were confirmed at the VRDLs of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, and another diagnostic centre during the last 24 hours. Eighty of the infected persons are security personnel .
In the past 24 hours, 17 persons were also discharged from various COVID care centres in the State. The recovery rate is 64.44 per cent.
