SHILLONG, July 26 - Six more areas have been notified as containment zones in the State Capital as the active cases have touched 562 till Sunday.
Apart from the 22 areas already notified, the East Khasi Hills district administration also declared Nongsohphoh, Upper Mawprem, Block II, Golflink Khliehshnong, house of Gentina Lyngdoh, Golflink Mawpun, Maxwelton estate starting from Harrison bridge from right side road going to Riblong up to Meghna Marak building opposite Arts and Culture building, left side Captain Clifford road up to J N Bawri house and Mawpat Block I and III as containment areas.
In these containment zones, all business establishments will remain closed and supply of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through various teams formed by the district administration.
Meanwhile, there is a massive contact tracing going on in the State Capital. By Saturday evening 54 new active cases were detected.
The detection of these cases was primarily from East Khasi Hills and unlike the previous cases these were not from the BSF or armed force and were from the community.
