56 new virus cases in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Nov 17 - Arunachal Pradesh on Monday reported 56 new COVID-19 positive cases, which raised its virus tally to 15,868. Meanwhile, the discharge of 88 cured patients took the total number of recovered cases to 14,588, a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services said here.

Nine of the new patients are security personnel and one is a healthcare worker. As many as 16 of the new cases were registered in the Itanagar Capital Complex, nine in Upper Siang, eight in Changlang, and six each in West Kameng and East Siang districts.

Upper Subansiri, West Siang and Anjaw reported two cases each, while one each was recorded in Lower Dibang Valley, Leparada, Namsai, Lohit and Kurung Kumey districts.

Forty-three of the fresh cases have been found to be asymptomatic and 13 symptomatic, the bulletin added.

Meanwhile, with the release of 88 COVID-19 patients following their recovery from the disease on Monday improved the recovery rate in the State to 91.93 per cent.

The active cases in Arunachal Pradesh now stand at 1,232 with the positivity rate being 8.07 per cent. The State has already registered 48 COVID-19 related fatalities. The death rate is 0.30 per cent.

So far, 3,43,791 samples, including 1,341 on Monday, have been tested for COVID-19 across the State.
