HAILAKANDI, June 1 - The Hailakandi district administration has come down heavily on those resorting to unfair means in the ongoing D El Ed examination.
In all, 56 examinees were expelled on the first day of the examination yesterday. Action was initiated against two invigilators found adopting unfair means.
The administration has taken a slew of measures for ensuring smooth conduct of the D El Ed examination, which began yesterday and will end on June 2.
The district administration appointed authorised officers and they have been put under the direct control and supervision of executive magistrates. Seven executive magistrates have been made overall in-charge of the centres. Examination is being held in 19 centres across the district.
The district administration has banned taking of mobile phones inside the centres by both examinees and invigilators. �Barring the executive magistrates on duty, no one is allowed to carry any kind of electronic device, including mobile phone inside the examination centres,� said Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan, adding that stringent action would be taken against anyone found carrying such devices inside the examination centres.
Khan has asked the Superintendent of Police Mohneesh Mishra to depute police personnel at least an hour before the commencement of the examination. He has ordered for proper frisking to be carried out by the centre incharge and authorised officers in the presence of security personnel.
The administration has already clamped Section 144 Cr PC in the entire district.
Meanwhile, the administration has strongly refuted reports in a section of the media that examination paper was leaked before the commencement of examination yesterday.
�We did not receive any information or inputs of leakage of examination paper before the exam. After an exam begins and someone circulates it in the social media, then how can you term it as leaked question paper? Moreover, there is no clinching proof that the question paper leaked emanated from one of the examination centres of Hailakandi,� said Khan, adding that the administration is for zero-tolerance against all sorts of corruption and unfair practices.
Khan appealed to the media and citizens to join hands with the administration in rooting out corruption and catapult the district to a new height of development.
