55th Indian Oil Day observed at refinery

GUWAHATI, Sept 1 - The 55th Indian Oil Day was observed today at Guwahati Refinery with great fervour and enthusiasm, a press release stated.

Addressing a meeting, Guwahati Refinery Executive Director Jogen Barpujari hailed the committed efforts of the IOCians that has led the corporation to establish itself as a brand. He urged the employees to continue striving for excellence while ensuring safety and security of the refinery.

Barpujari gave an account of the performance of the refinery in the last financial year in terms of operation and productivity and congratulated the employees for their commitment and dedication. He also spoke on a number of future projects that the refinery was working on.

He said that the refinery�s track record in safety was commendable, and there were 2,228 accident-free and 2,240 fire-free days.

During the programme, retired employees of Indian Oil, who have attained 75 years of age, were felicitated. Pratibha Samman Award, Samuhik Upalabdhi Award and Productivity Conclave Awards were also presented.

In the evening, a cultural programme was organised where meritorious awards were presented to wards of employees for their academic achievement.
