54 more test positive in Nagaon

NAGAON, June 8 - Fifty-four more people, including a 16-month-old infant boy, who were quarantined at homes as well as at various COVID Care Centres (CCC) in the district, tested positive for COVID-19 today.

Among these positive people, 24 people have been verified as well as enlisted by the District Health Services and the other 30 cases are yet to be verified by the department concerned, the sources said this afternoon adding further that the entire verification would be completed later at night.

The tally of the positive patients in the district rose to 166 � out of which 22 patients have been discharged from the hospital till date. Sources said here that 12 positive patients were discharged from the hospital on Monday and the other 10 patients were discharged on Sunday last.

Sources also said that due to positive test reports of two youths, who were quarantined at their homes after completion of special quarantine at CCCs, the District Health Services, sealed their respective residences and also declared them as containment zone.

The newly-declared containment zones are the residence of Pijjush Agarwal at Nagaon South Haiborgaon near ADP College and the residence of Bibhuti Bhattacharya at Nagaon Amolapatty Kolongpar, Jakhalabandha Path near Natya Mandir in the town, the sources claimed further. It may be mentioned that Bibhuti Bhattacharya is an employee of Assam State Transport Corporation and has no travel history except his attendance at the transport office in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, the new patients who tested positive for COVID-19 today and completed verification are � Pijjush Agarwal (25), Bibhuti Bhattacharya (30), Rashidul Islam (21), Irajul Rahman (21), Insan Ali (25), Ira Harul Islam (14), Mehadul Hasan (20), Romzan Ali (10), Neel Sarkar (16 months only), Hafijul Islam (26), Kachyapi Kalita (26), Aza Harul Islam (22), Baharul Islam (22), Abul Kasem (30), Muzamil Hussain (29), Jahangir Alom (12), Mustafa Islam (25), Mufazil Islam (20), Jahangir Alom (24), Rajibul Islam (13), Lakhya Jyoti Das (20), Prafulla Das (50), Jyoti Das (28) and Bijoy Nath (24). Sources said that all were admitted in Nagaon Civil Hospital and Ujaragaon Model Hospital for further treatment and care.
