50th victory day prog of Bangladesh celebrated

GUWAHATI, Dec 25 - On the occasion of the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh, the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Guwahati arranged a reception programme here on Thursday.

State Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah graced the occasion as the chief guest while Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Monowara Habib attended the programme as the guest of honour.

The event comprised a dance soiree and music performance. Jina Rajkumari and her dance group presented a dance soiree. The group of Tatini Das performed various dance items on Bengali folk songs and Dreamly Gogoi and her team performed on the songs of Dr Bhupen Hazarika and Satriya.

The main attention of the event was rendition of singer Amrit Paul.

Another attraction of the celebration was giving away the awards for the best employees of the Assistant High Commission, Guwahati. Amlan Jyoti Barooah was awarded with the best employee award for the year 2019 while Biswajeet Chakraborty and Azharul Alom were awarded for outstanding humanitarian efforts in consular activity.

Commissioner and Secretary to the Industries Department KK Dwivedi and the Consul General of Royal Bhutanese Consulate in Guwahati Phub Tshering also attended the event.
