GUWAHATI, June 7 - The Assam Cricket Association today launched a green initiative by organising a mass plantation drive at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here.
As part of the drive, about 500 saplings of different varieties of trees were planted on the stadium premises.
The plantation drive was led by Romen Dutta, president ACA; Porikshit Dutta, vice president ACA; Devajit Saikia, secretary ACA; Ashish Bhowmik, zonal curator (East), Faculty of Curators BCCI; Sujit Kakati, chief executive officer ACA; Rajib Phukan, chairman, junior selection committee ACA and Nasir Gul Khan, media coordinator, ACA.
Many young cricketers who are undergoing training at the under-19 coaching camp, also participated in the plantation programme, said a press release.
