AIZAWL, Nov 27 - Aizawlites will soon get hold of the new Rs 500 and Rs 100 currency notes after struggling to get change for the Rs 2,000 notes, which was the only available currency in most of the ATMs and banks.
State Bank of India Aizawl branch assistant general manager Pradeep Kumar Sen said the first consignment of new Rs 500 notes along with Rs 100 notes arrived in Aizawl today.
�The Rs 500 note would be issued by different banks through the counters from Monday,� he said, adding that people will hopefully be able to draw them from different SBI ATMs by Tuesday. Sufficient amount of currencies have arrived for the requirement of the State at present, he said.
