IMPHAL, Aug 19 - Five former MLAs of Manipur who had resigned from the Congress, joined the BJP at the saffron party�s office in New Delhi today, sources said.
These ex-MLAs are Okram Henry, Ngamthang Haokip, Paonam Brojen, Oinam Lukhoi and Ginsuanhau. BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, national vice president Baijayant Panda and Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh were present on the occasion. Later, the Chief Minister, accompanied by the two BJP national leaders and the five ex-MLAs, called on the party�s national president, JP Nadda, at the latter�s office in New Delhi.
In a tweet today, Biren Singh said: �Called on BJP President Shri @JP Nadda ji along with five former @INCIndia MLAs from Manipur who join @BJP4India today, also accompanied by Shri @rammadhavbjp ji and Shri @PandaJay ji.�
