NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Oct 21 - Lakhimpur police on Sunday night arrested five persons with counterfeit currencies. The arrested persons have been identified as Mijarul Islam (26), son of Abdul Kuddus of no. 1 Ahmedpur under Bihpuria PS; Jeherul Hoque Talukdar alias Bhaiti, son of Monirul Talukdar from no.1 Daulatpur, Bangalmora; Abdul Shaheed (32), son of Nurul Hussain from Paschim Singibari, Rupohi, Nagaon; Yusuf Ali, son of Ibrahim Ali of Borsola 1 no. North Lakhimpur and Kurban Ali (27), of no. 2 Islampur under Bihpuria PS.
Police also recovered a cash amount of about Rs 12 lakhs from their possession.
A Hyundai I-20 car bearing registration number AS-07-L-1256 was also recovered from the possession of Jeherul Hoque Talukdar. Five mobile phones and two motorcycles were also recovered from them.
