5 gold biscuits seized in Manipur

IMPHAL, June 1 - Officials of Anti-Smuggling Unit of Customs Division, Imphal seized five gold biscuits of �foreign origin� worth around Rs 25 lakh from a person on Thursday, official sources said.

The gold biscuits weighing around 830 grams were recovered from the possession of one Gourav Yogi (26) of Rajasthan, from Nagamapal in the heart of Imphal, said Cumtoms officials.

On May 26, Customs officials stationed at Pallel in Manipur had seized five gold biscuits of �foreign origin� and worth around Rs 26 lakh.

On May 25 too, Anti-Smuggling Unit of Customs Division, Imphal arrested two individuals along with 12 gold biscuits worth Rs 62 lakh concealed inside their rectum.

In another incident, around one gram of heroin was seized from a woman at Nongmeibung Chakpram Leirak on Thursday, according to reports.
