GUWAHATI, Nov 17 � A five-day programme of Bhaona and �Sampurna Raas Leela� will be organised jointly by BB Entertainment and BB Creation, an organisation shaped by Basanta Kumar Barua and Bobby Sarma Baruah, in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism and the Cultural Affairs department at the AEI playground, Chandmari from November 23 to 27, a press release stated.
The Sampurna Raas Leela in the Bhaona style will be staged on November 23 and 24 under the direction of Basanta Kumar Baruah.
On November 25, a comprehensive Bhaona, Nrisingha Yatra will be performed by a group of artistes from Oua Satra, Kerela Gaon, Majuli. On November 26 and 27, a �Mancha Bhaona,� Maharathi Karna on an experimental basis, written by Sewabrat Baruah and directed by Basanta Kumar Baruah, will be staged.
This will be the third venture by Basanta and Bobby Baruah after the holding of �Sampurna Raas� and �Mancha Bhaona� since the last two years which attracted culture-loving spectators.
All the masks for the Raas Leela and Bhaona are being made by veteran mask artist Thaneswar Baruah and his assistant Bipul Baruah from Gohpur.
Rehearsals for the Raas and Bhaona are going on in full swing with prominent artistes like Pranjal Saikia, Gayatri Mahanta, Madhurima Choudhury, Lakkhi Borthakur, Ashim Krishna Barua, Dipankar Hazarika, Dr Chinmoy Chakraborty, Kuldeep Sarma, Manoj Das, Rabindra Bora and many others along with 25 gopa balaks and balikas and 30 gopis for the Maharaas.
Basanta Kumar Baruah will be assisted by Diganta Bhuyan of Narayanpur in the Raas and Bhaona. The choreography for the Raas Leela will be done by Dhan Bihoya of Guwahati, the release added.
