GUWAHATI, Nov 1 � The Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Kamrup (Metro) on Thursday convicted five persons under NDPS Act and awarded them 14 years of rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1 lakh each.
The convicted include Dipak Das, Akhil Chandra Pathak, Sadhan Deb, Tiken Das and Sukleswar Das.
Ritu Raj Baishya, special public prosecutor appeared on behalf of the Government of India while the accused were represented by different advocates.
All the five persons were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on April 23, 2013 with a huge quantity of ganja here.
