IMPHAL, June 24 - With 49 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Manipur has increased to 970, including 642 active cases.

�In the last 24 hours, 49 persons, including 25 women, tested positive,� said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and spokesperson of the State Health Department in a press release. Among the news cases, 11 each are from Churachandpur and Ukhrul districts, five each from Senapati, Kakching and Kamjong, three from Imphal West, two each from Imphal East, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, and one each from Jiribam, Noney and Thoubal.

All of them are returnees from other States and they have been shifted to COVID care facilities.
