DERGAON, July 28 - After the detection of 46 new positive cases, the number of active cases has increased to 467 and cumulative active cases increased to 1489 in Golaghat district as on Tuesday.
Out of the cumulative positive cases in the district, 1022 were discharged and 1 died so far due to Covid and another 2 died infected with Covid but with co-morbidities.
DIPRO in-charge Papu Gogoi said that among the new cases, 32 were detected through RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) out of which 11 are jail inmates, 6 from NRL, 13 from Mission Testing Centre, 2 from SKKCH while 14 others were tested through RTPCR (real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction). Among these new cases, 6 are from passengers, 17 others and 23 from contact tracing.
Among these, 4 cases including a minor boy are from Dergaon. Three persons have been found positive at Dergaon Kamargaon while one was found at Hanhpani.
He also said that a total of 122 inmates are in the quarantine centres.
Golaghat Deputy Commissioner has urged all to maintain covid-19 protocol in letter and spirit for breaking the chain of the virus.
