DHUBRI, July 15 - With 46 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases jumped to 582 in Dhubri district.
However, 457 persons have been released so far. Among the 46 new cases, 19 were CRPF personnel.
Meanwhile, the health department of the district has taken up the COVID-19 antigen test. The Joint Director of Health, Dhubri Dr Syed Imdadullah, said, �We have started doing these antigen tests only in the containment zones.�
Commenting on the sudden rise in such cases in the district, the joint director said, �Most of the cases in the district are asymptomatic. We have conducted various tests, but thankfully there is no trace of community spread as of now and all the cases are limited to migrants or their direct contacts.�
�The district health services along with the district administration have collected 41,327 samples in Dhubri district for the COVID-19 tests so far, out of which 39,203 samples have been found negative and 692 reports are still awaited,� he added.
