RAHA, April 5 - The electricity subdivisional office of Raha has recorded more than 45 per cent growth in revenue collection during the last financial year that ended recently, compared to the previous year.
Dev Dulal Sharma, SDO, ASEB office, Raha, said that they have collected Rs 9.27 crore during the last financial year.
�The ASEB Raha office was managed to cross the target of Rs 9 crore this year compared to the previous financial year. Last year we collected Rs 6.37 crore,� he said. The subdivisional office was able to collect revenue of Rs 1 crore alone in March this year from its consumers.
�We have launched a massive drive against unpaid billing amount and electricity theft related offences like illegal connection, overload, etc., in various places of Raha and during the drive, the department not only collected revenue, but also created an awareness about using electricity as per their need,� Sharma added.
�The drive will go on until and unless the department can control all those offences related to electricity in the entire areas falls under ASEB Raha,� the SDO added. However, he expected that within some months the offences would come under control.
