GUWAHATI, Oct 21 � The State Fire Service Organization is heading towards a major overhaul with the organization all set to procure over 45 state-of-the-art fire tenders in the next few months.
The organization is also slated to be christened as Fire Emergency Service.
Moreover, the organization is also planning to host a series of workshops and training programmes for the firemen to make them apt to tackle all kind of eventualities.
The department has also decided to change the colour of the firemen�s uniform.
A senior official of the department informed that new fire tenders is being procured to improve the fire-fighting capacity of the State.
