TIHU, May 4 - A team of 45 devotees of Tihu area of Nalbari district, who started their journey to visit the Jagannath temple, the Surjya temple, the Hanuman temple and many others on April 25, have been stranded at Asam Panda Bhawan in Puri in view of super cyclone Fani, which has already hit Odisha leaving 9 people dead.
The devotees from Haribhanga, Piplibari, Garber Bali, Kanimara, Parmankhowa etc., were to return home on May 4 . The team includes Ramesh barman, Ramakanta Thakuria, Hemanta Ray, Monohari Kalita, Anju Deka, Chandana Deka, Kanak Baro, Madan Kalita, Anil Sarma, Rukmini Devi, Sanatan Kalita, Dandi Kalita, Jamuna Kalita, Urbashi Kalita, among others.
Meanwhile, local people here, family members of the devotees and the visitors have requested the government to take necessary steps for their safety return.
