DERGAON, July 26 - Soon after 72 new positive cases were detected and 13 patients discharged, the number of active cases increased to 439 and cumulative active cases increased to 1,329 in Golaghat district as on today.
With this, the cumulative positive cases in the district has increased to 1,329 out of which 890 were discharged and 1 died so far from Covid-19 while another 2 died after being infected with Covid-19, but perished due to comorbidies.
DIPRO incharge Papu Gogoi said that among the new cases, 54 were detected from among the jail inmates through RAT (rapid Antigen Test), 16 from passengers, while 2 from other sources from RTPCR (real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction).
In the meantime, the Golaghat Deputy Commissioner urged all to strictly maintain covid-19 protocol in letter and spirit for breaking the chain of transmission.
