4304 in mass quarantine centres in Dhubri dist

DHUBRI, May 18 - As many as 4,304 persons who have come from different parts of the country have been kept in 34 mass quarantine facilities in Dhubri district.

Out of these, 1859 persons have been kept under quarantine on Monday, which includes children, women and elderly persons. The district administration informed that most of these persons are from Dhubri district who came from other parts of the country. They are mostly labourers, daily wage earners, students and working persons.

These persons also include people who went out of the State for treatment and remained stranded due to the lockdown. In Chagoliya Institutional Quarantine centre, 1,077 persons have been kept under quarantine.

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika visited COVID-19 mass quarantine centres in Chagoliya area. Apart from these, 7,600 persons are in home quarantine in the district. A total of 2,291 samples have been taken for COVID-19 test, out of which 1,390 results have come out negative. However, results of 888 tests are still awaited.
