43 new cases detected in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR, Aug 17 - Arunachal Pradesh recorded 43 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the tally of infections to 2,701, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here last evening.

The State has currently 888 active cases, as 1,808 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged, while five persons have already succumbed to the virus.

Of the 43 fresh cases, West Kameng and Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for the most with 10 cases each, followed by Lower Dibang Valley with five and Changlang at four. Three cases each were reported from Tawang, Upper Subansiri and East Siang. Leparada registered two cases, while one each was found in Siang, Papum Pare and East Kameng districts.

Among the new cases, 41 cases were found to be asymptomatic and two symptomatic, as per the bulletin. On the contrary, 37 positive patients were released on the day following their recovery from the disease.
