400 join Cong at Raha meet

RAHA, Sept 2 - Around 400 activists and supporters of BJP Yuva Morcha, ABVP and AGP on Thursday joined the Congress party at a meeting held at the residence of Dip Das, a Youth Congress leader and chairman of Nagaon district Scheduled Caste Development Board.

The meeting was organised by Raha Youth Congress in collaboration with the local unit of NSUI. Several senior leaders of the Congress party from Nagaon and Raha were present in the meeting which was held under the presidentship of Abdul Karim, president of Raha Block Congress.

Rakibul Hussain, former Congress Minister attended the meeting as the chief guest. He welcomed the new members and was hopeful that the newcomers would help in strengthening the party.

District Congress president Tapan Sharma, Haidar Hussain, president of zila parishad Dibyajyoti Bora, general secretary of district Congress Benu Ahmed of Kathiatoli Block Congress and Arunangshu Bhuyan, former Nagaon district general secretary of NSUI were present in the meeting, among others.
