40 new cases in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 24 - Arunachal Pradesh reported 40 fresh cases of COVID-19 infections today, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 3,263.

Further, the State today saw release of 69 COVID-19 patients, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services late last evening. So far, 2,297 persons have recovered from the ailment. The State�s active cases stand at 961, while five people have already lost their lives due to the virus.

Of the 40 new cases detected in 12 districts within a span of 24 hours, Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for the most with 11 infections, as West Siang recorded eight cases and Changlang seven. West Kameng reported six cases, while one case each came from Leparada, Anjaw, Tawang, Upper Subansiri, Tirap, Lower Siang, Lower Subansiri and East Siang.

Among the 40 new cases, 37 were reported to be asymptomatic and three symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

In the meantime, 69 Coronavirus patients were discharged following their recovery from the disease. Lohit district took the lead with 33 recoveries, followed by Itanagar Capital Complex with nine and Changlang at eight.

Upper Subansiri witnessed release of five cured cases, and four each came from East Kameng and Leparada. Three cases were discharged in West Kameng, and one each in West Siang, Anjaw and East Siang.
