TINSUKIA, Aug 11 � For different reasons, including health problems, four active cadres of the United Liberation Front (ULFA), Independent faction surrendered before the Tinsukia and Dibrugarh police here on Monday.
On the occasion, a surrender ceremony was organized at the office of the superintendent of police here which was also attended by the Dibrugarh SP Rana Bhuyan and Tinsukia SP Akhilesh Kr Singh.
The surrendered cadres are Bidyut Moran alias Bullet Asom of No. 2 Teji Gaon, Kakopathar, Bhaskar Sonowal alias Nagen Asom of Lakhipathar, Digboi, Anojit Mahanta alias Jonak Asom of Kordoiguri, Baghjan, all from Tinsukia district, and Nijut Gogoi alias Amlan Hazarika of Pulunga Gaon, Chabua in Dibrugarh district.
They have surrendered one US Carbine with magazine and two rounds of ammunition, TNT powder, one pistol with magazine and five rounds of ammunition, one China-make hand grenade and one mobile phone handset.
