4 students die in road mishap

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Nov 14 - Four school students died in a road accident at Chaboti here on the Children�s Day today. The accident took place on the under-construction NH-15 bypass when the Scorpio SUV (AS01AN1502) the teenage schoolboys were travelling in overturned and rolled on several times before ramming into the railings of a bridge, killing all of them on the spot.

The victims have been identified as Nayan Jyoti Nath (15), Raj Kumar Rejal (15), Rishi Raj Dutta (15) and Arun Mandal (15), all students of class X in Asian Public School, North Lakhimpur.

The accident has sent shock waves across the town that has of late witnessed increased number of underage persons riding and driving vehicles recklessly, often resulting in tragedies.
