AZARA, May 25 � Four persons of a marriage party died on the spot and 30 others were injured when the Star bus (AS-02-E-8336) carrying them collided head on with a truck (AS-14-C-1584) at Bongora Pachaniyapara under Azara police station around 3-15 am today.
The marriage party was returning to Sijubari, Guwahati, following the solemnization of a marriage at Jambari, Chhaygaon last night. The bride and the groom, however, were not in the ill-fated vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as Darbez Ali (40) of Boko (Kamrup), Abdul Jalil Barbhuyan of Hailakandi, Ajahar Ali (26) of Mangaldoi, and Suman Ali (6) of Boko (Kamrup). The injured have been admitted to various hospitals, including the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH). The postmortem of the dead has been done.
