4 NDRF personnel among 10 new COVID-19 cases in Mizoram

AIZAWL, July 18 - Ten more people, including four National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and a seven-year-old child, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, taking the State�s tally to 282 today.

The NDRF personnel were stationed at Lungverh near Aizawl.

Out of 160 samples examined at the Zoram Medical College laboratory here in the last 24 hours, 10 tested positive, an official release stated.

Of the fresh cases, five were reported from Aizawl, three from Siaha and two from Champhai district.

All the new cases are returnees from Bihar, Assam, Delhi, West Bengal, Rajasthan, UP and Maharashtra. Seven of them are asymptomatic, while three have shown COVID-19 symptoms.

Meanwhile, seven recovered patients were discharged from hospital today.

After a woman was discharged from the Dedicated COVID Health Centre (DCHC) in Kolasib district, six other patients, including five women, were discharged from the DCHC in Siaha district.

Mizoram has so far reported 282 cases of COVID-19 of which 115 are currently active.
