IMPHAL, Oct 13 - Manipur has reported four deaths � one each from Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts and two from Thoubal district � in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of deaths in the State has touched 97.
Meanwhile, 237 new COVID-19 positive cases have been recorded, taking Manipur�s total virus tally to 13,793 on Tuesday. Out of the new cases, 230 have been reported among civilians, while seven cases belong to Central Armed Police Forces personnel, officials said.
According to a press release, the new COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed at various testing facilities in the State. The positive cases from the general population are from different districts of the State, the release stated.
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
During the past 24 hours, 122 persons were also discharged from various COVID care facilities after they were found negative in RT-PCR tests, the release said.
The numbers of active and recovered cases in Manipur now stand at 2,867 and 10,829 respectively, the release stated. The recovery rate in the State is 78.51 per cent.
