SHILLONG, March 24 � The four-laning works of the NH-40 from Jorabat to Umiam in Meghalaya is set to be completed by June 2015 with nearly 90 per cent of the work over, Public Works Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said today.
�Around 89.7 per cent of the work has been completed,� Dhar told the Assembly during Question Hour. The NH-40 connects Lower Assam, Tripura and Mizoram with the rest of the country.
He said the expected date of completion is June 2015 and at present the government has completed land acquisition at Umsning where initially there was problem in the process.
�The land acquisition process for Umsning Bye Pass has been completed and the land has been handed over to the Jorabat-Shillong Expressway Ltd,� Dhar said. The new road has a length of about 5 km. � PTI
