TEZPUR, June 14 - In a successful move, the Sonitpur district administration has so far been able to detect 353 fake documents submitted for the NRC upgradation process, said an official source here.
The source said that during the investigation, police arrested four persons yesterday for submitting fake documents in an NRC office here and later sent them to the jail. The arrested persons are: Abu Bakkar Siddque of Bhujkhwa village, Jainal Abeddin of Bhujkhwa Chapori, Fajar Ali of Garsinga Bihiagaon and Jesimuddin of Botamari village. They were arrested based on an FIR lodged at the Tezpur Police Station by the Circle officer, Tezpur Revenue Circle, Dr Tahidur Rahman.
According to the source, some documents were sent for verification to the office of the Join Director, Health, Sonitpur where altogether 353 fake documents (birth certificates) have been detected so far.
