NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Sept 25 - Four youths were held and handed over to the police in North Lakhimpur today, following allegations of morphing a photo of All Assam Students� Union members taking out a protest march in the town some days ago.
On September 20, the North Lakhimpur unit of AASU had taken out a protest march across the main roads in North Lakhimpur against the irregularities in the North Lakhimpur Municipality Board. The front view picture of the march with banners and placards held by some girl students was morphed allegedly by some youths with obscene words and posted on social media like Facebook and WhatsApp. Following the incident, the North Lakhimpur AASU filed an FIR against the four youths and they were today caught and handed over to the police by AASU demanding exemplary punishment for their misadventure. The youths have been identified as Sushil Doley, Rajeev Pamegam, Devajyoti Swariyari and Homen Taid.
