4 die in Arunachal fire

ITANAGAR, Nov 23 - Four members of a family, including two minors, were charred to death in their sleep as a fire broke out at their residence near here early this morning. The incident took place at Dokioso Colony behind the Bomdila Hotel at around 3.30 am.

Itanagar Capital Complex SP Tumme Amo said the couple and their two daughters were charred beyond recognition.

The deceased have been identified as Ha Tasang (35), his wife Ha Yaning (30) and their daughters, Yapi (8) and Yama (6). The victims hailed from Pipsorang under Tali Assembly Constituency in the remote Kra Daadi district.

�Police and fire services personnel reached the spot within an hour despite the narrow and hilly roads, and prevented the fire from spreading further,� the SP said, adding that the cause of the blaze was not yet known.

Disaster Management Secretary Dani Sulu, DC Capital Vikram Singh Malik, SP (Fire and Emergency Services) Romil Baaniya, and the SP visited the spot.
