GUWAHATI, March 9 - The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today seized four Bangladesh-bound trucks laden with coal from near Digharkhal MV check point in Cachar district.

As part of the ongoing investigation into the illegal coal trade, a team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Nirmal Baishya, seized the four overweight trucks laden with coal which were being transported to the neighbouring country without following the laid down guidelines related to weight and further transport.

No one was, however, arrested till the time of filing of this report.

Meanwhile, three of the six Enforcement officials who were denied anticipatory bail on Thursday by the Gauhati High Court today arrived at the CID headquarters. They were, however, not questioned. CID sources said that these officials will be served another notice specifying the time and date when they will be questioned.
