By CORRESPONDENT

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 28 - Four jawans of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) coming from outside Assam have been put under quarantine facility in North Lakhimpur. This was learnt from the Lakhimpur district Health department today.

The jawans, who have no sign of the suspected COVID-19 disease, have been put under quarantine as per arrangements because the CISF campus here has no such facilities, the authorities said. So far in Lakhimpur district, 1837 persons have been put under home quarantine while 869 persons entering the district from outside have been stamped. A total 764 persons have been screened at Lilabari airport, North Lakhimpur so far as a part of surveillance and control measures against the disease.

It may be mentioned here that Lakhimpur district administration has been making swift responses to the challenge paused by the COVID-19 in the district as the 21 days nationwide lockdown entered the fourth day today. In a bid to strictly enforce the lockdown, the Lakhimpur district administration will start delivering grocery and vegetables by mobile vans at residences. The Lakhimpur Police has also asked public to get Essential Services Passes (ESP) through the concerned OCs, ICs, COs, SDPOs and SDO (C) in the district. People needing ESP are requested to submit the filled up format through OCs, ICs, COs, SDPOs and SDO(C) with an attach photograph and send it through WhatsApp to the SPs office. The approved and signed ESP number, as per register will be sent to concerned OCs, ICs COs, SDPOs and SDO (C) in WhatsApp. The concerned OC, IC, COs, SDPOs and SDO (C) will send it to the applicant over WhatsApp, the police department said.

The ESP in soft copies will be accepted throughout the district with the sent phone number from concerned OC, IC COs, SDPOs and SDO (C) and will work as digital signature, explained the Police department here. However, hard copies of the signed ESP will be sent to the concerned OC, IC, COs, SDPOs and SDO (C) and that can be collected by the applicant if required from there. Meanwhile, the police and civil administrations preparedness for the COVID-19 emergency has been affected by the spread of rumour that people are entering the district unchecked and they are hiding somewhere.
