AGARTALA, June 28 - In yet another incident of crime against women in Tripura, two minor girls of remote Taksaiya para village in Khowai subdivision were gang-raped by four youths last night.
Police have arrested all the four accused this afternoon after a manhunt. The accused have been identified as Sonacharan Debbarma, Kanak Debbarma, Maliya Debbarma and Asim Debbarma.
A police source said that the victims, both students of class IX, were known to the accused, who had taken them to a nearby jungle on the pretext of chatting and committed the crime.
After committing rape, they abandoned the victims in the jungle and fled the spot.
After regaining consciousness, the girls somehow managed to reach home and narrated their ordeal to their guardians.
Based on an FIR filed by their guardians, a case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
