DIBRUGARH, June 22 - All the four accused in gangrape of a minor have been arrested by the police here. Police had arrested two yesterday while two others who were hiding were arrested today, Additional Superintendent of Police Padmanabh Baruah informed.
The four accused had reportedly waylaid the minor girl while she was on her way to her sister�s house at Chandmari Ghat from Convoy Road. The accused identified as Biki Rai, Bikash Rai, Manoj Thapa and Probin Das alias Bretlee allegedly took her forcibly to the nearby tea garden and committed the crime.
The matter was reported to the police by the family of the victim a day after the incident and the police were in look out for the four accused. Biki Rai and Bikash Rai were arrested yesterday while Probin Das was arrested from his home in Graham Bazar today while Manoj Thapa surrendered himself to the police today.
Several organisations had earlier demanded immediate arrest and stringent punishment for the criminals.
