JAMUGURIHAT, March 31 - In a joint extended executive meeting of the Asomiya Sahitya Sanmilani of Biswanath and Sonitpur district branches presided over by Dr Jiban Chandra Nath, president of the Biswanath district Sanmilani at Behali College, Bargang and anchored by Dr Hemanta Borah, secretary of the district unit recently, it was decided that the third biennial conference of the Sanmilani would be held on February 8, 9, 10, 2019 at Ratowa, Biswanath.
Dr Dilip Borah, executive president of the Asomiya Sahitya Sanmilani, secretary Minku Kalita, Sonitpur district president and secretary Golap Kalita and Charu Kamal Neog were also present in the meeting. The meeting also decided to confer �Sadasya Barenya� to famous dramatist of Assam Tarun Saikia of Biswanath Chariali. Later on, in a meeting organised by the Sanmilani, a book of poems named Mah Jok written by Prabin Borah, father of Dr Hemanta Borah was released by Dr Dilip Borah, president of the Sanmilani.
Annual meet of Gyan Bharati Public School: The 12th annual meet and prize distribution ceremony of Gyan Bharati Public School, Chatiya, Hazarimal was held recently in the school campus with great enthusiasm. Presided over by Bharat Saikia, retired headmaster, Changamari High School and the president of the Gyan Bharati Public School managing committee, the meeting was addressed by Ripunjay Bordoloi, assistant teacher, Changamari High School and a prominent scientific activity organiser and a writer as the chief guest.
In his address, Bordoloi asked the students to inculcate scientific temperament, take active part in environment cleanliness, form character and keep themselves away from excessive use of mobile phones.
Krishangee Borah, the all-round best student of the school was awarded the Anjali memorial award cash prize with a book and the competitors who won positions in various games and sports, dance and music and literary activities were awarded prizes.
A wall magazine named Milestone prepared by the students was also released on the occasion. A captivating cultural show presented by the students enthralled the audience.
