39 more cases in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, July 28 - Meghalaya today registered 39 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the total active cases to 580. Most of these cases were reported from the East Khasi Hills district. Meanwhile, six patients have also recovered from the infection during the same period.

The Meghalaya capital has been under a three-day lockdown and on the second day today, Health authorities traced contacts of high-risk persons in different parts here.

Meanwhile, the district magistrate of East Khasi Hills district has closed down the Lad Smit Market after a person who had reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, was found mingling with shopkeepers and pedestrians.
