350 girls attending NCC training camp

GUWAHATI, July 13 - �Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments�. This message was taught to NCC cadets attending the annual training camp being conducted by the 60 Assam (G) Bn NCC at South Point School in the city from July 9 to 18.

Altogether 350 girls from across the State are getting trained at the camp to fight various challenges of life. The training also seeks to inculcate in them leadership, sense of discipline and comradeship through specifically designed and customised training programmes, a press release said.

Cadets are being exposed to various activities like firing practice, map-reading, drill, self-defence, disaster management, fire-fighting, interaction with motivational speakers, Swachh Bharat drive and digitisation of India.

The camp is being conducted under the command of Camp Commandant Col Karnail Singh, assisted by staff of 60 Assam Girls Bn NCC.

Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya yesterday visited another NCC training camp being held at the Gauhati Commerce College under the aegis of the Bn 1 and interacted with the cadets. Also present on the occasion were college Principal Homeswar Kalita, Akshat Arora, SM Group Commander, NCC Guwahati, and Commanding Officer Col Shashi Bhusan SM.
