ITANAGAR, June 20 - Arunachal Pradesh recorded its highest single-day spike of 32 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday.
The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 135, including 121 active cases and 14 cured/discharged, according to the State Health Department.
Of the 32 new cases, 13 were reported in the Itanagar Capital Region, 10 from Changlang, eight from West Kameng and one case from Lohit district.
�All the cases have been detected from quarantine facilities and all are asymptomatic,� the Directorate of Health Services said in a bulletin late last night. �They all have been shifted to COVID Care Centres,� it added.
With the detection of 10 more coronavirus cases in Changlang, the eastern Arunachal district now accounts for the maximum of 70 cases, including 68 active cases and two recoveries, followed by 24 cases (including 18 active cases) in the Itanagar Capital Region and 12 in West Kameng district.
Meanwhile, three COVID-19 patients were discharged from the COVID Care Centre in the Itanagar Capital Region, taking the total number of cases cured so far to six. Before being released, they were advised to undergo a strict 14-day home quarantine and self-monitoring, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
