By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 9 Over 30,000 headmasters of primary schools of the State under the banner of Asom Rajyik Pratamik Shikshak Sanmilani today resolved to relinquish their charge and responsibility as head masters in protest against what they said was unjustified treatment in the 6th Pay Commission.

They, however, would continue to serve as teachers in their respective schools. This was informed by T Buragohain of the Sanmilani.

The 6th Pay Commission, the Sanmilani alleged, had no mention about the headmasters and even the charge-allowance that they were earlier entitled to ceased to exist.

Buragohain further informed that a delegation of Sanmilini is slated to meet senior officials of the Education department on April 12 to discuss the issue.
