GUWAHATI, May 26 � The Pragatishil Jatiya Nagarik Mancha, Assam today started a 30-hour hunger strike and protest against the �anti-people policies� of the Union government at Dighalipukhuripar.
The two-day programme has been organised to protest against the Narendra Modi-led government�s failure to keep its promise regarding the development of Assam and the Northeast.
In a statement, the Mancha added that an anti-Congress and anti-BJP awareness meeting would also be organised at the same venue tomorrow to throw light on the misdeeds of the national parties.
