GUWAHATI, May 1 - Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager HK Jaggi has awarded one goods train driver and two trackmen of the zonal railway for showing alertness and devotion to duty.
Mohd Azim, Loco Pilot (Goods), and Trackmen Arjun Kamti and Bablu Kumar were awarded Rs 5,000 each in recognition of their meritorious service during a function held at NF Railway headquarters in Maligaon here on April 29, said an official statement.
Azim, while piloting UP New Guwahati Foodgrain goods train on March 12, had noticed problems in the axle of loaded wagon, and immediately controlled the train at the Dumdangi station under the Katihar Division by informing the Station Master, thus preventing a major accident by his timely action and alertness.
Kamti and Bablu Kumar were on duty in the morning of March 15 when they detected hot axle in the wagon of a goods train bound for New Guwahati between Kuretha and Pranpur Road stations of the Katihar Division.
They immediately informed the Station Master of the Pranpur Road station by using personal mobile phones, and the train was controlled.
