SILCHAR, Dec 3 - Based on specific inputs, Cachar police arrested three cadres of the Naga National Council (NNC) from Meherpur in Silchar late on Thursday night.
According to police, the cadres have been identified as Sumgailung Gonmy (19), Keirijin Kamai (35) and Thuijinang Kamai (26). Police informed that while Sumgailong hails from Lamangdong, Keirijin hail from Jirighat and Thuijinang is from Tamenglong district in Manipur.
Cachar SP Rakesh Roushan informed that two factory-made pistols, magazines and ammunitions (14 rounds) along with uniforms were recovered from the ultras.
�In their confessional statements, the arrested cadres have admitted that they are NNC cadres. We are probing the incident with priority to obtain further clues,� the SP informed.
