IMPHAL, July 28 - A joint team of the police and Assam Rifles arrested a self-styled corporal of the outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), the police said.
The militant was nabbed, during a search operation at Kakmayai area in Manikpur of Bishenpur district on July 25, they said.
The team recovered one 9 mm pistol with four live rounds from him, a press release issued by the police PRO said.
In another search operation jointly conducted by the Imphal East police, Bihar Regiment of the Army and Assam Rifles on July 25 last, one cadre of outlawed Peoples Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) was arrested.
An overground worker of the outlawed KCP (Chingsanglakpa) group was also arrested by a team of the police and Assam Rifles today for allegedly serving demand letters to public, NGOs, etc.
Cases have been registered at different police stations, the release added. � PTI
