IMPHAL, Sept 1 � Three persons were injured when suspected militants exploded a powerful grenade at the residence of a retired Manipur Government official in Imphal West district, police said today.
The militants lobbed the grenade at the residence of former superintendent of Taxation department T Modhu at Chingmeirong area, near here, late last night.
Modhu and two others were injured in the explosion, the police said. The militants escaped under cover of darkness.
Police said monetary demand from the retired official could be reason behind the crime. No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the crime. � PTI
