GUWAHATI, Sept 4 - Police today arrested three persons in connection with a shooting incident at Chandmari last night. They have been identified as Damodar Deka, Liladhar Saikia and Kiran Baniya.
According to a police source, the incident happened during a birthday party at the apartment of one Damodar Deka.
�Amidst the birthday celebration, heated arguments occurred among some party revellers and one Kiran Baniya allegedly opened fire. One Mintu Hazarika suffered a leg injury and was admitted to a private hospital here,� the police source said.
The police seized a .32 pistol after the incident.
�Kiran Baniya had carried the pistol to the birthday party. According to Baniya it belongs to one of his friends Liladhar Saikia. However, the licence verification process is yet to be carried out,� the police source said.
