BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 9 - Three persons including an associate professor of Biswanath College, here were arrested by police on Sunday in connection with the physical torture of a youth.
According to information, the trio namely Safiur Rahman, Biswajit Bhagawati and Raktim Bhuyan had allegedly beaten up one Chiraj Alam of Goaltoli under Biswanath Chariali PS inside the college campus on Thursday accusing him of using Rahman�s niece�s photograph in social media. The incident was videographed in mobile phone and the video went viral. The injured boy had to be later admitted in hospital. A case was registered with Biswanath Chariali PS bearing number 77/18 under sections of IPC 363, 342, 325, 307 and 34 following which they were arrested. The police are investigating the matter.
